Our staff, board, and volunteers are passionate about sustainability!
With only a few part-time staff and lots of hope and heart, we put love and labour into our mission to inspire sustainable living. Just look at what we have accomplished this year alone!
With your support, we:
- Gave mobile sustainability workshops to audiences of all ages across the National Capital Region
- Modelled eco-renovations to renters and tour groups on the property
- Organized a Healthy Shorelines Forum in Clarence-Rockland for 600+ students, teaching them about shoreline restoration and water protection in their community
- Welcomed 40+ children to our beloved Country Fun Nature Camp, with two stellar summer student leaders and over a dozen youth volunteers
- Co-produced the Bike City Great City film on sustainable transportation
- Grew healthy local produce and introduced organic gardening to our campers through our Bunching Onions CSA
- Partnered with the Ottawa Biosphere Eco City on the Ottawa Sustainability Tour
- Gave seed-saving training on preserving heritage seeds for the future
- Continued partnerships in local networks for change, such as the Community Energy Network and National Capital Environmental Nonprofit Network
- Shared memories of the decades of love and vision that make our historic house, property, and organization so unique.
