Tucker House Wishes You a Happy Holiday Season

Another year comes to an end! Indeed, 2024 was filled with new activities, friendships and partnerships while the Board of Directors welcomed some new faces. The house resonated with laughter and encouraged creativity while our grounds welcomed visitors, guests and vendors.

Our Grow Green Summer Camps were a success again this year, welcoming many campers who learned about mushrooms, gardening and pollinators. Thanks to our dedicated camp counselors, the children also participated in ecological activities and enjoyed the warm summer weather by the pool. We are looking forward to welcoming campers again during the summer 2025!

We hosted an Indigenous vendors’ market and our Winter Fair as well as numerous workshops. We offered a wellness series including Meditation and Restorative yoga hosted by Sobina and QiGong with Nicole Beaulac, our local expert. Our family-oriented Winter Fair in November was a huge success, offering a petting zoo, a chance for pictures with Santa and a vintage red truck as well as activities for everyone. Our amazing volunteers baked holiday tourtières and treats. Even Mr. and Mrs. Clause dropped by for pictures!

Tucker House also offered some new experiences to the surrounding communities, including Sparkle + Pine, a volunteer-led cocktail gala fundraiser, and a paranormal investigation. These successful activities were well received, and we are thrilled that our visitors supported us.

In an exciting fundraising addition, we have joined the Kin Club of Russell’s Catch the Ace lottery! This weekly draw gives the buyer a chance to win 20% of the total sales for that period. Furthermore, 30% of the weekly sales are added to a larger, progressive jackpot. For every ticket sold, Tucker House makes a profit. So, please consider helping us by purchasing a ticket!  For more details and to buy your tickets, we encourage you to visit the Tucker House website, maisontuckerhouse.ca. While you are there, consider purchasing the line of eco-friendly products by Tru Earth, another wonderful mission-based fundraiser. Tucker House hosted retreats, family gatherings and memorable weddings. We were happy to see the love and cherished moments experienced on our grounds and hope that more people will take advantage of our beautiful property in the coming year.

The year 2024 also saw changes to the Board of Directors, including a new Chair, Vice-Chair and Treasurer, all looking forward to guiding Tucker House towards a successful 2025. We want to thank YOU so much for your support and dedication to Tucker House this past year. You are one of the important pillars that keep Tucker House’s standing in our community. Whether you are a volunteer, a sponsor, a partner or a local resident, your contributions to our mandate remain essential, and we extend our most sincere gratitude.

As you know, being a non-profit organization, Tucker House relies heavily on charitable donations to operate. Advancing our ecological, sustainability and mission is only possible with the participation of the community and its financial support. In this time of giving, we ask you to consider donating to Tucker House for the Holidays. Donations allow us to offer enhanced programming integral to our community while investing in infrastructure to maintain the house and land that are the soul of our organization.  A donation goes a long way and fits easily in everyone’s stocking!  Please visit our website for details.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, we wish everyone a joyous and peaceful holiday season and look forward to seeing you in 2025 for more fun and excitement at Tucker House!
