Get to know the bees in your backyard and make your own bee box

Do you know how many species of bees there are in Canada (hint: it’s a lot)? Do you know how to tell the difference between a bee and a wasp? Want to know how to attract bees to your garden? In this workshop, facilitated by uOttawa biology professor Dr. Jessica Forrest, we will learn how to identify some of the most common native bee species in our region, then check out the pollinator garden and see if we can find them ourselves. We will also be making our very own mason bee boxes from recycled materials. Ideal for gardeners, beginner naturalists, or anyone looking to learn more about our most important pollinator species.

This event will take place on Sunday, September 27 from 1:00 to 3:00.

Cost: $15 per participant or family
