About Maison Tucker House

Maison Tucker House is a community-centered space rooted in nature, creativity, learning, and connection. Through our summer nature camps, children are encouraged to explore the outdoors, build confidence, foster curiosity, and engage in meaningful environmental and creative experiences.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and compassionate Summer Camp Leader to help lead and oversee our 2026 Nature Summer Camps program.

Position Overview

The Summer Camp Leader will act as the primary supervisor and coordinator for the camp program. This individual will support and guide camp counselors, help develop camp programming and curriculum, maintain communication with parents and guardians, and ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for all participants.

The Camp Leader will report directly to the Executive Director and play a key role in the successful delivery of the summer camps.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily camp operations
  • Support, mentor, and coordinate camp counselors
  • Assist in developing and organizing camp curriculum, activities, and nature-based programming
  • Help promote camp programming and community outreach efforts
  • Act as the main point of communication for parents and guardians
  • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all campers
  • Maintain camp rules, procedures, and positive group dynamics
  • Oversee daily setup and cleanup of camp spaces and materials
  • Manage attendance, incident reporting, and administrative documentation
  • Ensure activities are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with Maison Tucker House values
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director on planning, reporting, and evaluation

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children and/or youth in camp, educational, recreational, or community settings
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to manage groups of children in a calm, positive, and responsible manner
  • Passion for nature, environmental learning, creativity, and community engagement
  • First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) required
