About Maison Tucker House
Maison Tucker House is a community-centered space rooted in nature, creativity, learning, and connection. Through our summer nature camps and family programming, we aim to create meaningful outdoor experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, environmental stewardship, and joy.
We are currently seeking four enthusiastic and caring Summer Camp Counselors to join our 2026 Nature Summer Camps team.
Position Overview
Summer Camp Counselors will play an important role in supporting campers throughout the summer by helping create a safe, engaging, and positive environment for children participating in our nature camps and activities.
Counselors will supervise campers, assist with activities and programming, support camp operations, and help families and community members stay connected to Maison Tucker House programming throughout the summer.
This role is primarily in-person during camp programming, though some administrative and outreach-related tasks may be completed remotely.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, support, and engage children during daily camp activities
- Help lead nature-based games, crafts, outdoor learning activities, and creative programming
- Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all campers
- Assist with camp setup, cleanup, and organization of materials
- Support positive group dynamics and maintain camp rules and expectations
- Assist with promoting children’s activities, camps, and community events at Maison Tucker House
- Support administrative and outreach tasks related to camps and summer programming
- Communicate professionally with families, children, and community members
- Help respond to inquiries related to summer camps and activities
- Work collaboratively with the Camp Leader and fellow counselors to create a welcoming and supportive environment
Qualifications
- Experience working with children and/or youth is considered an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Responsible, dependable, and energetic
- Passion for nature, creativity, community, and working with children
- First Aid/CPR certification is considered an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) required
